
IADR Education Research Group Grant
The Education Research Group (ERG) invites proposals of up to $2,500 USD for consideration. The ERG Grant is designed to fund an educational research endeavor that leads to the promotion or dissemination of effective learning and/or teaching activities in dental education.

Eligibility

Active Members of the ERG are eligible to apply. Members of the ERG Research Grant Committee and specially appointed reviewers are not eligible.

Typically only one grant will be awarded in a calendar year.

Successful applicants will be asked to submit a brief report and present their findings at the IADR General Session.

Successful applicants will be asked to acknowledge the funding in any resulting publications.

Notification of Receipt
Project Leads will receive notification email from the ERG Officers confirming receipt of proposal should they be eligible for the award.
The award will be announced during the IADR General Session Meeting at the ERG Reception and Networking Session
Procedures

Initial Stage, Expression of Interest, Submission of Proposal

The ERG officers will verify that the application meets all eligibility criteria

ERG will assign each application to at least two reviewers with relevant expertise.

ERG Preliminary Review:

Reviewers conduct an initial assessment based on predefined criteria (e.g., project significance, feasibility, budget justification). See below Criteria.

ERG Grant
Evaluation Criteria
Each application will be evaluated based on six key criteria. Reviewers will assign a score from 1 to 5 for each criterion, where:

5 – Excellent: Fully meets or exceeds expectations
-
4 – Good: Meets most expectations with minor weaknesses
-
3 – Satisfactory: Acceptable but requires improvement
-
2 – Weak: Major weaknesses or gaps in explanation
-
1 – Poor: Fails to meet basic requirements
